Having failed to impress against Brighton after being given a rare start on Friday night, Anthony Martial looks headed for the Old Trafford door marked “Do One”. While he didn’t refer to the 22-year-old or his fellow forward Marcus Rashford by name in his post-match moan, José Mourinho was stinging in his criticism of both and is now reported to have given the thumbs-up to a deal that would take Martial out of his sight and off to Juventus this summer. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are also believed to be monitoring Martial’s situation with varying degrees of interest. If Chelsea do decide they want him, they may have to offer as much as £80m and Willian in return.

A bucket of icy cold water has poured all over speculation that United have agreed an £80m deal to make a Premier League player of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić. Mateja Kezman, the player’s agent, told the Serie A side’s website that “Lazio have three big games to go and nobody has talked about any negotiations at this moment.” So there.

German TV station Sport 1 have reported that Borussia Dortmund are cooling their interest in Chelsea flop Tiémoué Bakayoko as they feel the Premier League club’s valuation of £53m for the player is way too high. Bakayoko has failed to impress since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Monaco last summer, but that hasn’t stopped Chelsea looking for £13m more than they paid for him.

Following Liverpool’s defeat at the hands of Chelsea yesterday, Jürgen Klopp sarcastically dismissed speculation that the club have agreed to take Nabil Fekir (along with his young brother, Yassin, as a sweetener) from Lyon in a £61m transaction. “During the game, we agreed a deal?” said Klopp with faux surprise in his post-match debrief at Stamford Bridge. “I would be surprised about that to be honest. No comment.”

Liverpool are also being linked with Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé, who has struggled to make an impression at the Camp Nou since moving from Borussia Dortmund last summer. Wilfried Zaha is another player reported to be on Liverpool’s radar, while Chelsea are also understood to be interested in securing the services of the £50m-rated winger.

Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has been identified as one of Steven Gerrard’s first targets as he prepares to begin life in the Rangers hot-seat. The 20-year-old will be offered a loan deal that would see him get regular first-team football after starting just four games for Liverpool this season.

And finally, with Leicester’s players going about their business with all the enthusiasm of a dog who knows he’s being taken to the vet, the managerial jig looks up for Claude Puel after just over six months in charge. After losing four of their past five matches and with games against Arsenal and Tottenham to come, the club’s season is ending with a whimper and David Wagner is the latest name being tipped to take over at the King Power Stadium. The Huddersfield manager has not yet secured his side’s Premier League status, but yesterday’s hard-fought point against Manchester City could make all the difference.

West Ham scout Leander Dendoncker again as Belgian is "promised" a move - report

With safety in the Premier League assured, transfer plans can begin in earnest

By Sam Inkersole

West Ham assistant manager Stuart Pearce has reportedly spent his Bank Holiday Sunday scouting Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker for a second time, according to reports in Belgium.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Pearce was in the stands at the Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges for Anderlecht's 2-1 victory over Club Brugge, the second time the Hammers coach has been to watch the midfielder/defender.

The first time was back in January when Dendoncker played at centre half against Genk whereas this time around, the Belgian international lined up in midfield.

West Ham have had a long-standing interest in the midfielder and tried to swoop and sign him in January but didn't stump up enough cash for the player and the move fell through on deadline day.

Reports in Belgium claim the Hammers are making Dendoncker a prime target this summer as well having secured Premier League survival at the weekend thanks to a 2-0 win over Leicester City and Southampton conceding a 96th minute equaliser at Everton.

The report in Het Nieuwsblad, Anderlecht's new owner Mark Coucke has promised Dendoncker a much-wanted move this summer, one year after his best mate Youri Tielemans was allowed to leave for Monaco but the Dendoncker found his exit path blocked.

Crystal Palace are also keen on a move for Dendoncker, who was also linked to Manchester United last summer but it seems the Irons are ready to strike early to seal a move for the player, who made it clear he would be happy to join the Hammers when a move was mooted in January.

Hammers linked with Mexican left back

West Ham have been linked with the Mexican left back Miguel Layún. The 29-year-old currently plays for Spanish club Sevilla, on loan from Portuguese club Porto. Layun is good friends with Javier Hernandez and whether his fellow Mexican stays or goes could also be a factor.

The pair are set to both go to the World cup in Russia this summer. The signing of Layun could mean the end of Aaron Cresswell who has not been the same player this season. He holds the record for more assists in the Premier League by a defender (seven) but club sources say they would consider offers for Cresswell this summer.

Last month Everton were linked with a £25million summer raid for West Ham and England left-back. The report said that Sam Allardyce – who signed Cresswell for the Hammers four years ago from Ipswich remains a big fan and wants him to compete with Leighton Baines.

That’s convenient- linking us with that Mexican player who will only come if someone we know is leaving is still at the club.

Haha, I know it is only rumors but would not surprise me if we are looking at a left back despite having Masuaku and Cressers, surely Right back is needed a hell of a lot more and other positions take priority first... I do hope we have a summer of signing the right players for once....
